Out of This World Facts...Literally!

A speed animation project done as a challenge to myself over a strict period of only 4 days using information from Space Fact Slides. I also aimed to make the video only a minute long - which I achieved excluding the ending credits card. The inspiration for the fast-paced, on-trend space animation came from YouTube science channels I love such as Kurzgesagt - In a Nutshell or CGP Grey.
The outcome of this speed project was seeing just how much I'm capable of in a short, "crunch time"-like schedule. It turns out that it's quite a lot! Watch the video above and see below for pre-production materials & storyboards.

This challenge included the creation of:
- Brainstorming/sketching loose animation ideas in a notepad
- Creation of "Moodboards" (using a combination of Niice, DaFont, Font Squirrel, and Photoshop) to gather inspiration for the look & feel of the project
- Sketching ideas for & creation of an intro logo
- A style guide complete with logo usage, color palette, and fonts
- Paper storyboards
- Recording of the chosen facts as a voiceover & finding the perfect Creative Commons-licensed background track on CCMixter.org
- Creation of the illustrations seen in the video
- Actual animation of the created assets in After Effects and editing the scenes together in Premiere
