Blue
Video projection. Created in Final Cut Pro and Motion. Runtime – 5:02. 2009.
Blue was created with the space and size of the venue taking top priority. Creating a piece that flowed well across the entire area was the number one concern. Having previous experience in working with lights as a way to create interesting shapes, they were chosen to both create movement through the space and a dramatic atmosphere. The color
was chosen as it seemed to have the most impact against a black background. The piece is designed to have the same amount of impact whether one watches it in its entirety, or only catches ten seconds. Blue is meant to shape the space of the gallery into an interesting visual experience for both those watching inside and outside.
